Rabbi Ovadia Yosef Haboucha

Rabbi Haboucha  is a highly acclaimed Sofer Stam certified by Mishmeret Stam of Bnei Brak and is a scribe of Tefillin, Mezuzot and Megillot.

Rabbi Haboucha resides in Toronto, Ontario where, together with his wife and eight children, has stood at the helm of the the Sephardic Community of Kol Torah for the last 21 years.

Rabbi Haboucha grew up in Montreal, Canada where he studied at the Yeshiva Gedola Merkaz Hatorah under the tutelage of Rabbi Mordechai Weinberg ע"ה and subsequently continued his studies in Israel at the Kollel of Ohel Naftali, under the guidance of Rabbi Shaul Wajsman.

After his wedding, Rabbi Haboucha honed his artistic sensitivities by studying the sacred art of Safrut. He completed his certification in 1997. He then furthered his interests in the field and became an expert in the art of checking Tefillin and Mezuzot. Over the past fifteen years Rabbi Haboucha’s work has been in high demand.

In 2019, Rabbi Haboucha was asked to join the Toronto Beth Din.
